According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the upcoming Sept. 26 matchup between Wake Forest and Notre Dame in Winston-Salem will be postponed.
The game, which is a part of the 2020 Duke’s Mayo Classic, was initially set to be played in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium; however, in early September, the event was moved to Winston-Salem. Kickoff was set for noon on Saturday.
Notre Dame made the official call to postpone due to COVID-19; seven more positive results within the program showed up during a round of testing on Monday.
As of right now, Notre Dame football currently has 13 players in isolation and 10 in quarantine. Both programs have an open week on Oct. 3, which could serve as a makeup date.
Notre Dame makes this official. Seven positive tests on Monday, the school said. "Combined with last week’s testing results, a total of 13 players are currently in isolation, with 10 in quarantine." https://t.co/M7lNlU2hcO
