NC State continues to add in-state talent: 3-star CB Jackson Vick

The last two weeks for NC State football have seen significant gains on the recruiting trail. Most recently, the Wolfpack landed a commitment from Jackson Vick, a 3-star cornerback from Bailey (NC) Southern Nash.

The 5-foot-11 Vick is a top-20 cornerback in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247 Sports.

Since the start of June, Vick took two unofficial visits to NC State; he also stopped by Wake Forest, Appalachian State and East Carolina. In the end, though, Dave Doeren and NC State won out.

Vick also received offers from Duke, Syracuse, Coastal Carolina and Charlotte.

Southern Nash is the same school that produced current NC State star running back Bam Knight, who ran for 788 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2020 season. Knight, initially a Duke commit, flipped to NC State in June 2018.

NC State’s 2022 recruiting class is now up to six commitments; four of those prospects, including Vick, are from North Carolina. Five of those commitments have come during the first two weeks of June 2021.

While working to build 2022, NC State also has an eye on 2023 — specifically in-state, 4-star wide receiver Noah Rogers, a top UNC target, too.
