Mark Mitchell, one of the top players in the 2022 recruiting class, will announce his college decision on Friday — at 4:00 p.m. est.
Mitchell, a 5-star small forward, is a top-10 overall prospect in the 2022 class. 247 Sports ranks the 6-foot-8, 215-pound Mitchell as the No. 3 small forward for 2022.
Duke, one of three finalists, is the favorite to land Mitchell; however, UCLA and Missouri are also in the mix.

Mitchell plays his prep ball for powerhouse Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. Last week, Sunrise Christian played Montverde Academy, another prep power. This also meant a matchup with fellow 5-star forward and Duke signee Dariq Whitehead, arguably the top NBA prospect in the 2022 class.
By Friday evening, Mitchell and Whitehead could be on track to be teammates next season in Durham.
In Jon Scheyer’s first official recruiting class, the Blue Devils have already signed three of the top 10 players in the 2022 class: Whitehead, center Kyle Filipowski and center Dereck Lively, the No. 1 overall prospect. Duke’s 2022 class also includes 4-star shooting guard Jaden Schutt, one of the top movement shooters in the prep ranks.
Duke already has the No. 1 2022 class, but the addition of Mitchell would raise its ceiling quite a bit. As usual, Duke is set to turnover most of its roster after the 2021-22 season, the final year for Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski.
