Injuries are the worst part of sports, and Notre Dame has been hit with a big one. In the weekend win over Purdue, senior wing Rex Pflueger tore his ACL; he will miss the remainder of the 2018-19 season. Pflueger was second on Notre Dame’s roster in minutes this season (30.5 per game). He averaged 8.1 points (38.9 3P%) and 4.3 assists per game.
Notre Dame’s Rex Pflueger announces that he tore his ACL in the win over Purdue. Really sad news for Pflueger, and also a major hit to the Irish and their NCAA tourney hopes. https://t.co/WMp7ZDpBDy

For four years now, Pflueger has been a mainstay of Mike Brey’s rotation. For his career, Pflueger appeared in 110 games, making 57 starts. He was a member of two NCAA Tournament teams, too — 2016 and 2017. A defensive ace, Pflueger was also a low-mistake player (2.3 turnovers per 100 possessions for his career) on offense and a steady three-point shooter (35 3P% for his career).
