CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami football program announced today that sophomore linebacker James King has left the team to pursue other options.
“I have given James a full and unconditional release, and I want to wish him the very best in his future moving forward,” said head coach Mark Richt.
King saw limited time as a freshman with most of his action coming on special teams. The Miami native joined the Hurricanes before the 2015 season following a standout prep career at Booker T. Washington High School.
