Less than a month after securing a commitment from 2017 tight end Devan Lawson, Boston College added another pledge at the same position on Saturday. That player was San Diego native Patrick Brown, who is the fifth player to commit to the Eagles this cycle.

The 6-5, 230-pound prospect visited Chestnut Hill over the weekend. A rising senior at Cathedral Catholic High School, he is a former prep teammate of current Boston College defensive tackle Ray Smith.
Brown is rated the No. 51 tight end in the 2017 class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He was originally offered by BC in February.
