Jabri Abdur-Rahim, one of the top freshman recruits to enter the ACC in 2020, will enter his name to the transfer portal.
A top-50 prospect, Abdur-Rahim committed to Virginia over Michigan in July 2019. Along with Reece Beekman, Abdur-Rahim solidified a strong 2020 recruiting class.
Abdur-Rahim rarely played as a freshman, though: 37 minutes in eight games. Abdur-Rahim scored seven total points on 2-of-10 shooting.
Virginia freshman Jabri Abdur-Rahim has entered the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Former top-50 prospect played sparingly this season. Big-time scorer at the high school level.

With future NBA talents Sam Hauser and Trey Murphy III playing the lion share of wing forward minutes, it seemed like the 2020-21 season was a de facto redshirt year for JAR.
(For a stretch of time, the plan was for Murphy III to take a redshirt year after transferring from Rice. However, when Murphy got a waiver from the NCAA and was granted instant eligibility, he quickly become a lineup fixture.)
That may have been the case; however, the next step for Abdur-Rahim’s development could very likely come outside Charlottesville.
Abdur-Rahim is the second Virginia player to enter the portal this offseason. Sophomore guard Casey Morsell made the same decision last week, too.
