Will Richt be Miami’s long-term play-caller?

For Miami, part of the appeal of hiring Mark Richt — beyond his roots as an alum, his experience and his by-all-accounts-sparkling character — was his offensive mind.

Richt came to prominence as a coach because of his ability to tutor quarterbacks and call plays, which he did with Florida State’s national title teams in the 1990s. His ability to outmaneuver defenses was a hallmark of his time at Georgia and helped the Bulldogs win a pair of SEC titles.

But Richt has come under fire this season from Miami fans who expect more from a supposed master who makes decisions they deem questionable. Will Richt continue calling plays after this season?
