Watson has risen back to Heisman-level form

Clemson is undefeated on the season (6-0) with a win over an SEC foe (Auburn) and a top five opponent (Louisville). The Tigers have all the makings of a title-contending team: an explosive and experienced quarterback, a powerful running back, an arsenal of wide receivers and, of course, a dominating defense — perhaps the best in America. An undefeated record in October is nothing new to them, too. Clemson’s coming off the best season of Dabo Swinney’s tenure: 14-1, an ACC championship and a ticket to the College Football Playoff. Orange-clad expectations were through the roof to start the season, and fair or not, the curve Clemson is graded on this season is very steep. Which is why their start to the 2016 campaign was somewhat underwhelming. In wins over Auburn and Troy — both six-point victories — the defense had to carry Clemson’s water while the offense caught up.

Well, Deshaun Watson, Wayne Gallman and the offensive line have arrived — and the entire nation should be on notice.
