Miami sophomore to transfer

 

University of Miami men’s basketball coach Jim Larrañaga announced Monday that sophomore guard James Palmer will transfer from the Hurricanes basketball team.

“We thank James for his contributions to the Miami basketball program over the past two seasons,” said Larrañaga. “We wish him the best in his future.”

Palmer, from Washington, D.C., played in 72 games during his two seasons at Miami, averaging 3.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game.

The Hurricanes will also lose point guard Angel Rodriguez, star guard Sheldon McClellan, defensive standout Tonye Jekiri at center and reserve forward Ivan Cruz Uceda.
