CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The University of Miami announced Monday that redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Tyler Grimsley has elected to transfer to another collegiate football program.
“Tyler has decided to transfer away from our football program in the hopes of gaining more playing time,” said head coach Mark Richt. “I certainly respect his decision and I wish him nothing but the best in his future college football career.”
Grimsley, who hails from Green Cove Springs, Florida, joined the squad following a standout prep career at Clay High School.
As a member of the Hurricanes, he redshirted during the 2014 campaign before moving on to serve as a key member of the team’s practice squad in 2015.
