Over the last few months, North Carolina added commitment after commitment as the Tar Heels assembled a powerful 2020 recruiting class. With the opening of college basketball’s fall signing period (Nov. 13- 20), UNC made things official. All five members of North Carolina’s 2020 class, which ranks No. 2 nationally (behind Duke), signed on Wednesday.
- Walker Kessler, 5-star center
- No. 15 overall
- Day’Ron Sharpe, 5-star center
- No. 17 overall
- Caleb Love, 5-star point guard
- No. 21 overall
- Puff Johnson, 4-star small forward
- No. 48 overall
- RJ Davis, 4-star combo guard
- No. 57 overall
All five prospects land inside the top 60 of the 247 Sports composite rankings, too. This marks three straight strong recruiting cycles for Roy Williams and North Carolina: Coby White, Nassir Little and Leaky Black in 2018 — followed by Cole Anthony, Anthony Harris, Jeremiah Francis and Armando Bacot in 2019.
Sharpe was the first of this group to commit; he picked UNC back in the summer of 2018. Kessler, however, is an especially notable signee; the 6-foot-10 center had an offer from rival Duke, and was a priority target of the Blue Devils.
With Walker Kessler commiting, per the great @RellDMC this will be the first time North Carolina signs two 5-star big men since 2008 with Tyler Zeller and Ed Davis.

Duke did manage to add another high-profile center, though: 4-star Mark Williams. Williams committed to the Blue Devils in early November.
