It’s probably too early to think about this; North Carolina basketball is only a few days removed from its second round loss to Texas A&M in Charlotte. These are the times to reflect, and celebrate some amazing team accomplishments.
However, this wouldn’t be sportswriting if it didn’t include some way-too-early reactionary thoughts, too. (You knew this.)
With all of that said, it’s the end of an era for UNC basketball. Theo Pinson and Joel Berry have exhausted their eligibility; North Carolina loses not only two of the most successful players in program history — and its two leaders — but also its top two playmakers.
Let’s jump ahead to next season: Who will run the show on the floor for Tar Heels team that will have national championship aspirations? Roy Williams has several options to choose from, but should UNC basketball consider looking outside the program, too?
