Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory has wasted no time finding a replacement for Robert Carter. Just two days after the school announced that the 6-8 forward was leaving the Jackets to continue his college career elsewhere, Ole Miss center Demarco Cox made the trip to Atlanta, and according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he is strongly considering a transfer to Tech.
At 6-8, 276 pounds, Cox started 16 games as a redshirt junior with the Rebels, averaging 4.2 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Assuming he graduates from Ole Miss this summer, he would be immediately eligible to play for the Yellow Jackets. NCAA rules allow a player to transfer without having to sit out if they have graduated and opt to pursue a graduate program that was not offered at their previous school.
Cox could become the sixth player to transfer to Georgia Tech since Gregory took over as head coach following the 2010-11 season.
