After Georgia Tech capped the first week of Training Camp with a scrimmage on Saturday and special-teams walk-thru Sunday, the Yellow Jackets were back in full pads Monday for the 10th practice of #GTCAMP15. Tech was on the field for two hours and the practice included work on the two-minute offense and defense.
The backfield behind All-ACC junior QB Justin Thomas is brand new following the departure of the team’s two primary B-backs and A-backs – all to graduation – from last season. Returning senior Broderick Snoddy and junior Isiah Willis were the starters on the post-spring depth chart at A-back, but redshirt freshman Qua Searcy has been enjoying a solid Camp.
“Qua has made some plays,” said head coach Paul Johnson. “Ike (Isiah Willis) has not been practicing (injured), so if we had to start tomorrow it would be Broderick and Qua.”
Snoddy was playing some of the best football of his career before a season-ending leg injury late last season versus Clemson. An All-ACC performer and school record-holder on the track in the 60m sprint, Snoddy has rushed for 483 career yards on 65 carries (7.4 per rush) and score four touchdowns.
Tuesday’s practice is set for 3 p.m.
