According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia Tech A-back Dennis Andrews has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules. Andrews was one of two returning scholarship A-backs who logged carries last season.
Andrews was expected to compete for a starting job as a rising junior, but when Tech released its post-spring depth chart last month, Andrews was not listed on the two-deep. Instead, Broderick Snoddy and walk-on Isiah Willis were named the starters, with redshirt freshmen Clinton Lynch and Qua Searcy penciled in as the backups.
It’s not the first time Andrews has faced discipline with the Yellow Jackets. He was suspended for the first two games of the 2014 season for violating the athleic association’s student-athlete conduct policy.
Over the last two years, Andrews saw action in 23 games at Georgia Tech, running the ball 27 times for 245 yards. He also returned five kicks for 136 yards.
