Two fans are discussing Georgia Tech basketball.
Fan 1 says, “The Yellow Jackets were competitive the entire season, and there were only three occasions all year when they weren’t in it until the end.”
Fan 2 says, “Georgia Tech was one of the worst teams in the ACC this season and wasn’t even close to finishing with a winning record.”
Both fans are correct.
It was a strange season for the Jackets, who lost 13 total games either in overtime or by five points or less. To make the situation even more bizarre, the school ended up retaining coach Brian Gregory basically because it couldn’t afford to fire him.
For Fan 1, or the more optimistic folks, the good news is that the program brings back most of its roster next year.
For Fan 2, or the more pessimistic folks, the bad news is that the program brings back most of its roster next year.
