Willie Taggart and Telly Lockette will be reunited in Tallahassee.
According to a report from Tomahawk Nation, Lockette will be Taggart’s first hire since becoming Florida State’s head coach. Lockette will leave his post as running backs coach at Oregon State to accept the same position at FSU.
Prior to the last three seasons at Oregon State, Lockette was Taggart’s running backs coach at South Florida. Lockette is known as a great recruiter in the South Florida area as he previously coached future FSU running backs Devonta Freeman and Dalvin Cook at Miami Central High School.
Lockette spent two years under Taggart at USF and was responsible for bringing Quinton Flowers, a dual-threat quarterback and future American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, aboard.
