It’s a claim that most Florida State fans will make: FSU is DBU.
DBU obviously stands for “Defensive Back University”. The tradition certainly is rich for Florida State in the defensive backfield with All-Americans like Jalen Ramsey, Lamarcus Joyner, Clifton Abraham, Leroy Butler and Jim Thorpe Award winners Terrell Buckley and Deion Sanders among others all coming through the program.
Despite losses to Derwin James, Tarvarus McFadden and Nate Andrews, the Seminoles should again be very good in the secondary. New defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett is expected to implement a 4-3 scheme, making for four starters in the secondary.
