Florida State’s new recruiting priority

There is no replacement for Justin Fields, but Florida State would be best served to find another signal-caller for 2018.

Once thought to be the frontrunner for the nation’s top overall prospect, Florida State watched Fields elect to stay in-state earlier this month and commit to Georgia. Head coach Jimbo Fisher and company had gone all in on Fields, making the miss even more painful as the Seminoles had no real backup plan.

FSU has just four scholarship quarterbacks currently on the roster and that number will be trimmed to at least three after the 2018 season with JJ Consentino set to be a redshirt senior next year. With that said, the Seminoles need bodies at the most important position in football.
