2017 DT picks Seminoles

College football programs across the country are in the early stages of building their 2017 recruiting classes, and Florida State is among the schools off to a hot start to the cycle. The Seminoles lured in multiple talented prospects before the 2016 calendar year, and on Saturday, they added another commitment from a highly rated recruit.

Defensive tackle Cory Durden was in attendance for the team’s junior day over the weekend when he announced his decision to pledge to FSU.

The consensus 4-star prospect from Newberry, Florida, is rated the No. 19 junior defensive tackle nationally in the 247Sports composite index.

Durden is one of six players committed to Florida State’s 2017 class, which is made up entirely of in-state players. He is one of two defensive tackles in the group, joining Ja’len Parks, who is his teammate at Newberry High School.

FSU’s class ranks No. 3 in the ACC and No. 6 nationally according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
