Senior linebacker Kelby Brown, expected to be a leader on defense for the Blue Devils this season, will miss the season after tearing his left ACL at Monday night’s scrimmage.
Two plays into the scrimmage, Brown went down in obvious pain. He pounded the ground in frustration and shouted, “No!”
The injury was to Brown’s left knee. He has already missed significant time in his Duke career after twice getting ACL surgery on his right knee. He was scheduled to get an MRI Monday night, and the school released a statement Tuesday morning:
#Duke All-ACC LB Kelby Brown will miss the 2014 season after tearing left ACL last night. Brown had 114 tackles, 11.0 TFL & 2 INTs in 2013.
