Since suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 1, James Conner has received significant support from Pittsburgh’s fanbase. That support has also extended beyond the Panthers’ program.
On Tuesday, the 2014 ACC Player of the Year received a letter of encouragement from the 2013 ACC Coach of the Year. Duke coach David Cutcliffe sent the letter to the running back.
“I wanted to send you a quick note to say all of us here at Duke were saddened to hear about your injury,” Cutcliffe wrote. “You are a great competitor and we wish you the best of luck in your recovery!”
The letter also included a hand-written note stating, “I admire your spirit and talent.”
Conner replied to the letter via Twitter:
“Thank you coach @DavidCutcliffe and @Duke_FB for the well wishes! Means a lot I appreciate it!”
