Trey Mourning, the 6-foot-9 son of former NBA star Alonzo Mourning, is waiting for a scholarship offer from Duke.
A senior at Florida’s Ransom Everglades, Mourning is not considered a nationally-ranked prospect by any of the recruiting services, He hasn’t been a regular in AAU ball, and reports are that he’s focused on his academics during high school–something that may make Duke an attractive option.
Mourning has reportedly been offered a scholarship by Florida and is also considering Georgetown, where his father played. He has a good midrange jump shot, and Duke coaches may project him as a contributor in the stretch four position.
