With Division I sports now back to (new) normal recruiting practices on June 1, schools can now host prospects for official visits. This is a big day for Hubert Davis and North Carolina basketball.
Two months after Roy Williams retired, UNC will host 2022 power forward/center Will Shaver, a 3-star prospect. Addressing the frontcourt will be a major priority for the Tar Heels in 2022; Shaver is a key target.
As Sherrell McMillan of Inside Carolina notes, Shaver is the first official visitor for North Carolina since Puff Johnson — just before the start of the 2019-20 season. Johnson, of course, is now in his second season with the program.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, the 6-foot-9, 245-pound Shaver has quickly emerged as sought-after prospect. UNC is right in the thick of things, too.
While North Carolina is the first school to host Shaver on an official, he has plenty of visits lined up over the next few weeks. That list starts with Wake Forest; Shaver will take an official visit to the Winston-Salem campus on June 4.
After that, Shaver will take two more official visits in the month of June: Purdue (6/18) and Virginia Tech (6/28). Shaver will conclude this first string of visits with a trip to Iowa for an official visit on Sept. 4.
