Thomas Allen to miss the remainder of the season with ankle injury

NC State has announced that redshirt junior guard Thomas Allen will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season with a left ankle injury.

Allen has missed the last four games for the Wolfpack — all wins for NC State.

During his first season of eligibility after transferring in from Nebraska, Allen appeared in 17 games. The 6-foot-1 guard made 15 starts, while also averaging 7.4 points and 1.4 steals per game. Allen is a strong 3-point shooter, too: shooting 37.9 percent on attempts from downtown.

Kevin Keatts on Allen:

We’ll always do the right thing for our players. After consulting with our doctors, I think shutting down Thomas for the rest of the season is the right decision. Thomas was injured in practice a few weeks ago and his ankle just hasn’t healed enough to play him. We’re at the point now where we need to keep him off his feet and in a few weeks, we’ll re-evaluate and decide on what the next steps are.
