NC State guard Thomas Allen out vs. Pitt with left leg injury

NC State basketball will be without redshirt junior guard Thomas Allen when the Wolfpack meet up with Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

According to a tweet from the team’s official Twitter account, Allen suffered a lower left leg injury during Monday’s practice. X-rays were negative; however, Allen is out for the matchup with Justin Champagnie and Pitt.

Allen has appeared in 17 games this season — making 15 starts. The 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 7.4 points and 1.4 steals per game. Allen is arguably NC State’s top floor-spacer — shooting 37.9 percent on 3-point attempts.

NC State (8-9, 4-8 ACC) has lost four of its last five games.
