NC State football went 2-for-2 with commitments from Lincolnton (N.C.) North Lincoln Friday night. Just as the Wolfpack landed a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Travali Price, NC State also grabbed a commit from long snapper Jayden Tate — Price’s brother and prep teammate.
The 5-foot-11, 245-pound Tate is a versatile piece; he offers some utility on both special team and, potentially, along the defensive line. According to Pack Pride, Tate committed to NC State over Tennessee, Louisville and South Carolina — in part because he’ll have the chance to play some nose guard.
South Carolina considered Tate as fullback.
Tate and Price are the 10th and 11th commits in NC State’s 2021 recruiting class, which now has seven players from the state of North Carolina. Dave Doeren’s 2021 class has really started to come together in recent weeks, too. Eight of the 2021 commitments have come since the start of May; that includes six in the month of June, alone.
