Mack Brown on the risks of COVID-19 as 2021 season approaches: “We’re not through with this now; it’s out there, it’s real”

Heading into his third season — during his second stint — as North Carolina football’s head coach, Mack Brown joins Josh Graham on The Drive (WSJS).

Brown and Graham touch on a variety of topics — starting with COVID-19 vaccines and name, image and likeness.

According to Brown, UNC had an expert from the CDC come in and speak to players and parents on the virus and vaccinations. Brown also mentioned that he sends his players articles on various athletes that have missed competitions due to COVID.

Earlier this week, UNC launched the first-ever group licensing opportunity for current college athletes. Brown explains to Graham why he was in favor on this development — as one of many ways the school is looking to help athletes (including Sam Howell) with NIL opportunities.

On a lighter note, Brown also mentions how he got his start as a burgeoning TikTok star, sneakers and coming to big media events.
