Louisville football will be without seven players for Saturday’s matchup with Virginia. The school announced that the players are “unavailable.” It’s unclear if these absences are related to COVID-19; however, that’s where the speculation lands.
The list of seven players includes two of Louisville’s offensive stars: running back Javian Hawkins and slot receiver Tutu Atwell.
Hawkins has 822 rushing yards on the season, which leads the ACC: 117.4 per game. Atwell has 40 receptions (528 yards), which ranks fifth in the conference, including five for touchdowns.

Here’s a look at the other five “unavailable” players: defensive lineman, YaYa Diaby, defensive lineman Derek Dorsey, defensive lineman Tabarius Peterson, cornerback Chandler Jones and running back Hassan Hall.
Two weeks back, Louisville played Virginia Tech sans nine defensive starters; the Cards lost 42-35. For the season now, Louisville is 2-5. Louisville is scheduled to play next Friday, too, on a short week: Syracuse.
