With commitment from 4-star Aidan Igiehon, Louisville up to No. 2 in 2019 class rankings

What started at the end of May — with the commitment of 4-star guard Josh Nickelberry — continued over the weekend for Louisville basketball. On Friday (Oct. 19), Chris Mack and Louisville landed the top prospect of their now six-person 2019 class: 6-foot-10 center Aidan Igiehon.

Igiehon, who plays his prep ball for Lawrence Woodmere Academy (New York), is ranked the No. 44 overall player and the No. 12 center by 247 Sports. ESPN has Igiehon slotted as the No. 36 overall player in 2019. He committed to the Cardinals over a plethora of offers, including Oregon and USC — two of the other top contenders. His recruitment was led by assistant coach Luke Murray.

In part because of volume (six commits), Louisville’s 2019 recruiting class ranks second nationally, per 247 Sports. Over the span of the last six weeks, Louisville has added five commitments, including four from 4-star players, like small forward Samuel Williamson.
