Paul Johnson and his Yellow Jackets took a step back last year with a 3-9, seventh-place finish in the ACC’s Coastal Division. In the midst of a tough season, Georgia Tech’s lone conference win came against national power Florida State.
During his eight years at the helm of Georgia Tech, Johnson has done well against both Clemson and Florida State. Johnson reminded The David Glenn Show of his winning record against the league’s top two teams.
“We’re 5-4 against Clemson since I’ve been at Georgia Tech and 3-2 against Florida State,” Johnson said. “We have a much harder time against Virginia Tech and Miami.”
Johnson went on to reassure that the top of the conference was feared by no one.
“Certainly they’re good programs and they’re very deserving of all the accolades, but I don’t think anyone in our conference is afraid of them.”
