Georgia Tech reeled in its first commitment of the 2017 cycle on Sunday when Sumter, South Carolina, punter Pressley Harvin III committed to the Yellow Jackets. Harvin announced the news via his personal Twitter account:

Kohlskicking.com ranks Harvin as the No. 1 punter in the class of 2017. According to Maxpreps, Harvin averaged 38.1 yards per punt and landed 13 of his 42 attempts inside the 20 this past fall at Sumter High School.

Georgia Tech graduates senior Ryan Rodwell after the 2016 season. In 2015, which was his second year as a full-time starter, Rodwell averaged 39.9 yards per punt for the Jackets, landing 14 of his punts inside the 20. Rodwell had 45 attempts last season, compared to an ACC-low 32 punts he had in the 2014 campaign.
