After signing 22 prospects on National Signing Day last February as the Frank Beamer and Justin Fuente eras merged, Virginia Tech is in line to sign a group of similar size this recruiting cycle.
The Hokies over-signed in 2014 but since haven’t reached the 25-scholarship threshold in their last two classes. But with 16 current commitments and a large number of remaining uncommitted targets, Virginia Tech could approach that number this time around.
The Hokies have significant needs in the secondary and along the defensive line. With an aging group of cornerbacks and safeties, they are prioritizing those two positions down the stretch.
