Prior to mid-April, Virginia Tech’s 2017 commitment list consisted of a defensive back, a defensive end, a quarterback and a pair of linebackers. What wasn’t part of the group was wide receivers or tight ends.
That is, until April 15, when in the span of four days, the Hokies added a pair of pass-catchers to the mix.
It’s no secret that Virginia Tech is going to try to win under Justin Fuente by airing it out. The program’s impressive haul of 2016 wide receivers figures to get plenty of opportunities this summer in training camp to compete for early playing time.
But the Hokies are in the process of trying to accumulate even more talent at wide receiver and tight end, which was evident in their recent successful recruitments of North Carolina native Caleb Farley and Colorado native Dalton Keene.
