Duncan, others out for Duke’s game against Virginia

With two of its senior captains already lost for the season, Duke’s talent drain continued Thursday with two more doses of bad news.

The Blue Devils will play Virginia on Saturday without leading rusher Jela Duncan, the redshirt senior running back who will miss the game with an ankle injury.

In addition, reserve linebacker Tinashe Bere suffered a knee injury against Notre Dame that proved worse than originally thought. He’ll miss the rest of the season, joining quarterback Thomas Sirk (Achilles tendon) and safety DeVon Edwards (knee) on the list of players done for the year.
