As Duke’s list of committed players for the 2017 football recruiting class has reached 16, the Blue Devils have now landed their first commitment for the class of 2018.
Junior quarterback Gunnar Holmberg from from Heritage High in Wake Forest, N.C., announced on Twitter on Thursday that he plans to play college football for the Blue Devils:

The 6-3 Holmberg also held an offer from Wake Forest and had received interest from a number of other programs. A 3-star recruit, he had attended camps at both Duke and UNC this summer and made quite an impression on Duke’s coaching staff.
