Could Cutcliffe’s 2017 recruiting class top his 2016 group?

DURHAM, N.C. — As Duke’s play has improved on the field, marked by bowl appearances in each of the last four seasons, so too has the Blue Devils’ recruiting success.

Coming off the school’s first bowl win since 1961 last December in the Pinstripe Bowl, coach David Cutcliffe and his staff brought in a 2016 class rated No. 5 in the ACC.

That 21-player class, featuring two 4-star players, is Duke’s best class since Cutcliffe took over the program for the 2008 season.

For now, anyway.

The Blue Devils are working on another talent haul this recruiting cycle. Could the program’s 2017 class top its 2016 group?
