Mark Mitchell is already one of the top prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, but his star is on the rise.
A top-20 overall prospect in his class, per 247 Sports, Mitchell has become one of the most pursued prospects in the 2022 cycle.
North Carolina offered Mitchell back in early September; the Tar Heels will continue to make a strong push for the 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward. However, plenty of other power programs are in the mix, too, including UCLA. The Bruins offered Mitchell back on June 16 — one day after the June 15 deadline for 2022 prospects. Kansas, USC, Kansas State and Oklahoma State will feature prominently for the Kansas native.
According to Jake Weingartern of Stock Risers, who interviewed Mitchell, UNC has made quite the impression. Mitchell has an early relationship with both Roy Williams and assistant coach Steve Robinson.
Five-star junior Mark Mitchell entered the summer with two offers. Now, he’s being heavily pursued by coaches like Roy Williams, Mick Cronin, and many others.

During his sophomore season at Bishop Miege, Mitchell averaged 21.6 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
While UNC has yet to land in early 2022 commitment, the Tar Heels are well-positioned for 5-star point guard Jaden Bradley — who already has an offer from North Carolina. Back in June, Bradley announced his decision to transfer to the IMG Academy.
Prospective Insight interviewed Mitchell over the summer. When asked about his experience playing in the Under Armour youth circuit, Mitchell named Bradley — along with Jarace Walker and himself — as the top players involved.
Similar to Bradley, Walker is a top 10 prospect in the 2022 class who plays for IMG. Over the summer, Virginia Tech started to make a little push for Walker; however, there now appears to be a clear top three of Auburn, Maryland and Michigan.
