Florida State has found a way to get back to the scholarship limit for the 2017-18 basketball season.
According to Rivals.com, the program released 3-star shooting guard Bryan Trimble from his letter of intent. Trimble will seek options elsewhere.
Trimble committed to FSU in November 2016 on the same day as RaiQuan Gray. They were the first two players to commit to Leonard Hamilton’s 2017 class. With three players declaring for the NBA Draft and two graduating, the Seminoles had just five available scholarships for the upcoming season.
M.J. Walker, the nation’s No. 26 overall player per 247Sports’ composite rankings, pledged to the Seminoles on May 24. However, his pledge put FSU over its scholarship limit.
The release of Trimble puts the Seminoles back at the limit of 13.
