FSU football will have a defensive-minded approach in 2017

For the Florida State Seminoles to reach a sixth straight major bowl game, or get to the College Football Playoff, its defense has to hit a new level in 2017.

The good news for Florida State fans is there are plenty of reasons to believe it can be. The Seminoles will lose Consensus All-American defensive end DeMarcus Walker, the school’s third all-time leader in sacks, and a reliable two-year starter at cornerback in Marquez White. All nine other starters, however, return.
