Notre Dame F Elijah Taylor to get ankle surgery Dec. 11

Notre Dame announced on Friday that freshman power forward Elijah Taylor will undergo surgery next month (Dec. 11) on his left ankle.

According to the the program, a six-month recovery process is expected; this procedure will finally repair a lingering ankle injury.

Taylor committed and signed to Notre Dame last fall; he picked the Irish over offers from Seton Hall, Dayton and Florida. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound Taylor, who hails from Philadelphia, was a 3-star prospect, per 247 Sports.

Taylor is the second Notre Dame player to need surgery within the last three months. Back in September, junior guard Robby Carmody underwent surgery on his kneecap, too.

As of right now, Notre Dame has just one official game on its 2020-21 schedule — Dec. 8 vs. Ohio State.
