Cutcliffe excited for Duke-Northwestern, building for rest of 2017

Duke (1-0) football cruised in its season-opening victory over crosstown foe North Carolina Central, winning 60-7. Quarterback Daniel Jones looked the part, too: 76 percent completion rate, two touchdowns.

Things are about to get more challenging, though, for the Blue Devils. Duke lines up this Saturday against visiting Northwestern (1-0). This is the third straight season that these two programs have played one another — the Wildcats have been victorious both times.

Prior to that matchup, though, Duke head coach David Cutcliffe stopped by the David Glenn Show this week to discuss a variety of topics: Saturday’s game, how to avoid a sneeze, and the new quarterbacks in the ACC.

“If you beat a team like Northwestern, it’ll make you better. We’ll be playing and getting better — period.”
