Chazz Surratt remains set to play the 2020 football season with North Carolina.
Earlier Wednesday morning, Wake Forest’s Sage Surratt — Chazz’s brother and one of the top players in the ACC — opted out of the 2020 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pass-catching Surratt will instead prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. This sparked some speculation: would Chazz Surratt follow?
For now, though, the UNC linebacker is focused on college football, according to a tweet from Mark Armstrong of ABC11.
From UNC spokesman: Chazz Surratt says nothing has changed about his plans to play despite his brother opting out.

After starting his career at quarterback, Surratt flipped over to linebacker when Mack Brown and Sam Howell arrived in Chapel Hill. The transition couldn’t have gone any better.
During the 2019 season, Surratt finished second in the ACC with 115 total tackles — an average of 8.9 per game. In the middle of Jay Bateman’s defense, Surratt also led the Tar Heels with 15 tackles for loss, good for sixth in the ACC, too.
