On Friday, North Carolina announced that Pittsburgh graduate transfer Cam Johnson has officially signed a scholarship with the basketball program.
Nearly two months after his decision to transfer out of Pitt, Johnson received word that he would be able suit up for the Tar Heels next season. Last Thursday (June 8), Pitt granted Johnson his full release. Johnson is eligible to play for UNC in the 2017-18 season.
He has two full years of eligibility left.
Johnson is capable scorer, who averaged 11.9 points per game, and shot 41.7 percent on three-pointers. He has a solid floor game: Johnson handed out 2.3 assister per game last season, too. Johnson has played in 73 career games; he made 33 starts for Pitt in 2016-17.
In a road loss at North Carolina last season, Johnson scored a career-high 24 points.
