The University of North Carolina and the Curtis Media Group announced a new radio home for UNC football and men’s basketball. Starting this fall (2021-22 academic calendar), football and men’s basketball games will be broadcast on WPTF 98.5 FM/680 AM in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill.
The first broadcast of this new arrangement, which comes in conjunction with Tar Heel Sports Properties, will be the Sept. 3 football matchup between UNC and Virginia Tech.

According to a release from the university: “The stations also will broadcast coaches’ shows for Football and Men’s Basketball.” WPTF 98.5 FM/680 AM will also serve as the home for the weekly “Primetime in the ACC” show.
Curtis Media Group, which owns The ACC Sports Journal and ACCSports.com, controlsย 62 AM and FM radio signals across the state of North Carolina. WPTF covers Central and Eastern North Carolina on AM and FM.
