The 2021 season opener between UNC and Virginia Tech has been set for Friday, Sept. 3. During the schedule release for ACC football in January, a date for this game wasn’t initially set. Kickoff time and network will be announced later.
North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech last season in a shootout, 56-45. Running backs Javonte Williams and Michael Carter combined for 383 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tar Heels in the series.
