Kennard builds strong case for ACC Player of the Year

As Duke righted its season with a winning streak that carried the Blue Devils into February, a big three of scorers has developed.

With 25 and 19 points, respectively, Grayson Allen and Jayson Tatum played major roles when Duke beat rival North Carolina on Thursday.

But right there in the middle, like he’s consistently been all season, was Luke Kennard with 20 points.

While Duke has ridden the waves of positive and negative momentum through injuries and other distractions this season, Kennard has been the constant.

That makes him, at this point, a clear candidate for ACC Player of the Year.
