John Currie: “At Wake Forest, we would like to think the fan experience reflects the hospitality of our university”

Recently on the job (May 1), new Wake Forest director of athletics John Currie rejoined The David Glenn Show — this time in studio. Currie and DG discuss a variety of topics: college athletics as the front porch of a university, Wake Forest’s uniqueness as the smallest Power Five program (in terms of enrollment), Currie returning to his alma mater, the transformation of Winston-Salem, the heights Wake Forest Football has ascended to and his relationship with Dave Clawson.

Currie also brought up the state of Wake Forest Basketball, which has seen hard times in recent years, and how he’s working to build a solid relationship with head coach Danny Manning: “What I’m doing is learning his program — finding, asking questions about how I can help.”
