Update: On Thursday, Trae Young committed to the University of Oklahoma.
One of the nation’s top point guard recruits will make his decision this week, and while he’s not headed to Duke, Trae Young’s announcement will impact how the Blue Devils complete their class.
Duke offered the 6-2 Young, a 5-star recruit from Norman, Okla., and a McDonald’s All American, last year. However, the interest between the two started to wane last summer. Rated as the No. 3 point guard and the No. 18 overall player in the 2017 class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Young is expected to pick either Kansas or Oklahoma on Thursday, with Kentucky still lurking on the fringes.
